ABOUT THE LAMBRETTA DUE 50

GREAT LITTLE BIKE!

I like it's look. The European-style projector beam vertical headlight/marker light ( not the usual side by side). The comfy 2-up seat. The sturdy mirrors. The old fashioned gauges. The 12" rugged Duro (in Canada) tires. The peppy 2-stroke engine. The finish. The handling. The ride. Even down to the rubber rear brake lever protector shroud!
I chose this one over the Yamaha BWS, firstly because it was better value, and secondly....because it's a LAMBRETTA!
Yeah, yeah, the Lambretta snobs will say it's an imposter...but it's still a Lamretta.
Listen, I've owned a Lambretta innocenti... it was a 1965 LI 150. I loved it .....but this new Lambretta is way more reliable! Much less maintenance, bigger and better tires, no sloppy gear and clutch cables to adjust and replace, a rear brake that actually works and a fantastic front disc brake!
I've been riding my "Bobbie Dazzler" for a year now... to work and back 5 days a week. Only  3 snow days when I couldn't! We've done nearly 3000 km. together.
This little Dooay may not have the speed of the Li 150 but it's still quick off the mark! Only thing I miss is the wide front leg protection.

"BOBBIE DAZZLER"..Bobbi, for short.
  MMMMM..........LAMBRETTA!

GLOVES

HELMETS

CRASH HATS, SKID LIDS

Keep ya weenie-beanies...I need protection!

Half- face helmet.
This is the one I prefer. It gives good protection. Comfortable, good visibility, reflectors.
It has a built in retractable sun visor as well as a retractable face shield.
It also has a ventilation control flap on the top!
I wear a ski mask underneath in cool weather...works great!

The full face helmet on the left belongs to my wife....but I have tried it.
I don't like it.
It gives better protection but it fogs up way to easily....and it squishes my glasses!

My fave again...now sporting its new logo!
I don't care so much about macho...I wear my space helmet and safety vest...I wanna stay riding!

JACKETS

RIDING JACKETS

My awesome wife got this one for me at a yard sale for $5 !!!
It's waterproof, windproof, and full of zippered pockets.
Velcro around the sleeves and collar.
Under arm zippers for ventilation.

DON"T FORGET THE SAFETY VEST!
I never ride without mine.

PANTS

RIDING PANTS

I've found these items to be invaluable! I like being comfortable when I'm riding...and that means warm and dry!
These pants are a must!
They have two-way zippers all the way up each outside seam...so ya don't have to take ya boots off!
They also have Velcro all the way up to cover the zippers.

They have deep pockets, zipper pockets, and a really handy one inside the bib.
They fasten around the ankles and waistband with tough velcro.
They are waterproof and totally windproof!
DAKOTA - available at Workworld.

REAR LUGGAGE RACK

REAR LUGGAGE RACK AND GIVI BOX

I searched Lambretta USA, and Lambretta Canada, for a rear rack...but no luck. I finally found the right one at Herchee (Adly).
Herchee (ADLY MOTO) is the manufacturer of this bike. The basic model is actually a PANTHER 50. Lambretta just put a few extra touches to the model. I'm glad they did..'cos I love the name!
Shipping is a little high but very quick! Every part for this bike is available from Herchee. I have the complete parts list...let me know if you need a part #.

REAR LUGGAGE RACK :- Herchee part #81200-159-000. Due 50/ Panther 50.

BOX IS by GIVI :- Micro 2.

CUP HOLDER

FLOOR MOUNTED COLLAPSIBLE CUP-HOLDER

This thing is a must! I don't go anywhere without my coffee!
I got this one from Wal-Mart for around $12. It's a folding cup-holder designed to be attached by screws. However, I just turned it upside down so that the bottom is facing the sky, then attached 3M HD velcro to the other side and on the running board...and voila! It's been on there for a year now..still firmly fixed!
Incidentally, the cup I use is a "Contigo" from Costco...completely spill-proof...insulated for hot or cold...and tough! I can carry it on the scooter, in my pocket, or throw it in a bag..never a drop spills!

HEADLIGHT and ID LIGHT REPLACEMENT

REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT

The main bulb is an H3 35W. (available from most auto parts...best service from NAPA.)

UNINSTALL

Don't be afraid...it's fairly straightforward!
DO NOT REMOVE THE SCREWS AROUND THE HEADLIGHT!!! THESE ARE FOR BEAM ADJUSTMENT ONLY!!!

Step 1
Romove the 2 screws located at the back of the front mudguard. (behind the front wheel.)
Step 2.
Carefully loosen the mudguard.

Step 3.
Remove the 2 bottom screws on the front cowling.

Step 4.
Remove the 4 screws located on the dash side of the front cowling.

Step 5.
Remove the 2 large screws located close to the elbows on the front cowling.

Step 6.
Gently unclip the front cowling until it can be leaned slightly forward at the top...giving enough room to allow the removal of the headlamp bulb.
Step 7.
The 35w.main bulb is at the centre of the inner assembly (the 1.5w.marker bulb is to the left side)
Step 8.
Slide off the attached spade connector.
Step 9.
Gently loosen the bulb-holder clip, then remove the bulb by its base.

Install

*FIRST - Put on a pair of thin cotton gloves so as not to leave any grease marks on the new bulb.
Insert the bulb into the holder and secure the clip.
You may now remove your gloves!
Hook up the spade connector.....and that's it!
Now all you have to do is to carefully clip the cowling back into place....put in the 4 dash screws...then the 2 bottom screws....then the 2 large screws.
Carefully replace the mudguard and tighten the 2 holding screws.

Identification Light

To replace the identification light (just above the headlight) follow steps 1-6. The id light holder has 3 screws which hold it to the cowling, 1 at the top, 1 at each side on the bottom. Carefully remove these screws and gently pull the whole assembly loose from the cowling. The bulb is at the bottom of the assembly, held in by a rubber holder. Gently pull out the holder and remove the bulb. Replace with GE 168 bulb (it's a little brighter). Place the bulb and lens assembly back in place and tighten the 3 screws.
Re-assemble the cowling as above.
